COVID-19 UPDATES FOR WILD HORSE PASS VISITORS
PHOENIX, AZ- May 8, 2020 - As a resource for visitors of the WIld Horse Pass Destination, Wild Horse Pass Development Authority (WHPDA) is committed to ensuring that we provide accurate and up-to-date information regarding public health conditions at the various managed businesses within our Destination.
Below, you’ll find a list of all of the businesses within the Wild Horse Pass Destination that have announced plans for reopening. This list is not comprehensive and will be updated periodically. Please visit each business’s website for further information on their COVID-19 response efforts and updated hours of operations.
WILD HORSE PASS - WHPDA MANAGED BUSINESSES WITHIN THE DESTINATION
In accordance with CDC guidelines, WHPDA has decided to limit operations within the following businesses to help prevent the spread of COVID-19:
Rawhide Western Town & Event Center (Ceased all non-essential operations) — Website
Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park (Temporarily Closed) — Website
We are also closely following the executive orders released by Gila River Indian Community Governor Stephen Roe Lewis, suspending all public gatherings of 10 people or more within the Community, as well as federal recommendations to avoid discretionary travel and social visits.
We appreciate your patience during this challenging time. We ask you to continue to do your best to keep yourself and others healthy. We will do the same.

We continue to encourage visitors, employees, and Gila River Indian Community (GRIC) members to follow the guidance offered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other supporting public health authorities provided below. If considering travel to the Wild Horse Pass Destination or to the Gila River Indian Reservation in the near future, please use these guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control, as well as the resources listed in the “Additional Resources” section to help guide your decision.
We strongly urge all visitors to follow these guidelines as well:
- Clean your hands often
- Avoid close contact with others
- Stay home if you are sick
- Cover coughs and sneezes
- Wear a facemask if you are sick
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily
